First, I will secure the ticket. Take pictures. Do not sign it. I will not call the news and go down to lottery HQ to claim my prize. I will get an attorney, and a financial advisor. Form a blind trust and have the trust. I will claim the winnings to keep my name private and limit tax liabilities. I will Listen to my financial advisor. It’s her job to help me. I will invest wisely, no matter how good an investment sounds I will not put all your eggs in one basket. And as far as friends and family? I’m not a bank. If they can’t get a loan from a bank they are the last person i need to loan money to. I will understand any money that leaves my hand, i consider it gone. If i can’t afford to give it. Damn sure I will not “loan” it. Because odds will not be repaid. pin this I’M NOT A BANK” EVERY 4TH cousin twice removed will sunddenly want to catch up an see how things are going. They’ll all have a sob story and when i say no will go out of their way to call me stingy, greedy etc. If they were financially stable they wouldn’t be in a bind, or a bank would be happy to loan them money.
